Louis Poulsen collaborated with GamFratesi for Euroluce 2017
Walls as paper, shadows as nature, space as architecture – with Design to Shape Light and an upcoming new collection as its cornerstone, Louis Poulsen aimed to intrigue and captivate with an ambitious stand design by GamFratesi at Euroluce this year.
Louis Poulsen had commissioned the Danish duo GamFratesi to capture the Louis Poulsen spirit in an out-of-the-ordinary stand design.
By creating an architectural structure inspired by Japanese paper art, GamFratesi had sought to create an out-of-thebox space that made visitors think about how cuts, lines and shapes can affect light and create ambience.
Flanked by two PH Artichokes and a vast tree, the entrance set the scene, showcasing the powerful Danish design tradition that defines Louis Poulsen. The stand folded like paper and invited visitors to explore various angles, corners and sides and to uncover exceptional designs both inside and around the space.
Celebrating Yuh
Celebrating Louis Poulsen's philosophy of designing to shape light and inspired by the classic virtue of Danish design, GamFratesi, the most stirring design duo of our time, have designed a lamp dubbed Yuh.
One of the essential features of the lamp is being personal. The lamp is flexible and takes up little space. It rotates, rises and drops, illuminating and creating ambience in the required area. A lamp created just around you.
The shade is determined geometrically from the functional movement of the screen on the vertical pipe. A minimal shape created from a circle to a line.
A complex technical system allows the movement of the shade and LED technology inside provides a high quality of light. In the upper part of the tube a button acts as switch and dimmer.
Yuh is available from autumn 2017 and comprises a table lamp, a floor lamp and a wall lamp, which are all available in white or black.
New Classics
In addition to Yuh and the extensive core collection of design that shapes light, Louis Poulsen had previewed three additional upcoming autumn launches, including a first ever historic Poul Henningsen PH 5 in a new mini version, the elegant VL38 in black and brass, as well the classic Doo-Wop pendant in new metal finishes.
