Patricia Urquiola
Born in Orviedo (Spain), Patricia Urquiola studied in Madrid and graduated at Politecnico di Milano with Achille Castiglioni as a tutor. From 1990 to 2000 she collaborated with De Padova and Lissoni Associati. In 2001, she started her own design studio in Milan, working on product design, architecture, interiors, installations and concept creation. She has won various prizes like the International Design Yearbook, IMM Cologne, Good Design Awards, Red Dot Award. She has been nominated designer of the year for Elle Decoration International Design Awards, Wallpaper magazine and Interior Design Hall of Fame. She has received from the Spanish Government and the King of Spain the Gold Medal of Fine Arts and the Cross of the Order of Isabella the Catholic. Her products are present in the permanent collection of various museums among others Museum of Modern Art, New York and Triennale Milano.
