Totem is a veritable feast for the senses, a light whose proportions enliven a space with dramatic effect. Envisaged by designers Mariví Calvo and Burkhard Dämmer, Totem evolved from the clever amalgamation of Dämmer’s Pod and Poppy pendants. A sublime lighting structure, Totem has the emblematic air of a sacred object, a light whose shape and spirit are reflected in cultures worldwide. Available in three stacked variations, the Totem pendant diffuses warm light through the gaps in its wood veneer strips. As a physical entity, Totem’s presence is impressive. Just as important, its spiritual quality is entirely unreserved. 3 Steel Cables: 2.5 m. Transparent Electrical Cable: 2.5 m. Available in 2.700K and 4.000K on request. DALI & BLUETOOTH dimmable also available on request.

Burkhard Dämmer

Burkhard Daemmer, born in Germany in 1965, studied industrial design at the University of FH Darmstadt Germany and the University of San Jose in California. For him, design means a way of finding good answers for new and old problems. Questions on the use, the life and vision of a product. With this philosophy in mind the work with veneer and light is always a special challenge. But the material and the company LZF serve for the best basis for beautiful designs in the past, the present and future. Apart from his designs for LZF , Burkhard has worked for companies such as; Adhoc GmbH, Arnold AG, Bankamp GmbH, DO-CE Mueble, Leucos, Modiss Iluminacion, Radeberger Group, Schöck GmbH, Zwilling AG, and others in the field of lighting, accessories, kitchenware, bathroomware and furniture. He has been awarded many prizes including the German Design award, the Good Design award, IF award, the DesignPlus award, the FORM award, ADI Design Index and CDiM award, and has been widely published in books and magazines.
