Carles Riart
"Barcelona 1944, furniture designer and interior designer, studied at the Eina school in Barcelona where he taught. The practical learning was done with a cabinetmaker. His professional activity began in 1969, together with Bigas Luna, they created Gris, a store and an interior design studio.
Later on, and already alone, I created the studio-studio Diputació (1974) and the Comercial Estelar (1978). His designs, mainly of furniture are, in many occasions, recoveries and reintroductions postmodern of traditional typology.
He has done work for companies such as Casas, Oisforn ,, Knoll Internacional, Bover ...
He was part of the ADI FAD board and was a board member of the FAD awards. In 1993 he was awarded the medal of this institution."
