Kooi is inspired by Chinese Shan shui painting and conveys its philosophy. Thanks to the contrast between the glass diffuser and the metal frame, lights and shadows become the protagonists of continuous visual effects and unprecedented changes of perspective. Tradition and future, utility and sensitivity, humans and the environment – the creative desire to unite polar opposites is what drives Limin Wang and Xiaoyi Lu. Both graduated from the Pforzheim University in Transportation Design. Their design studio in Munich is called Studio Shuu. The creations of them are characterized by clarity and poetry. The two designers seek not only to fulfil the needs and wishes of their customers but to rethink and redefine value, identity and beauty through their work.
